Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School, the first public school in India for girls, today has a formidable reputation. Located in the heart of the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan, it attracts pupils from all parts of the country and abroad. It is affiliated to the CBSE and has a strength of over 3000 girls of which about 350 are resident on campus. The School is managed by the MGD Girls’ School Society which functions through a Board of Governors, headed by Rani Vidya Devi of Jaipur.
